 Building a dream home

Breaking Ground February 27, 2008.jpg

February 27, 2008

After three years of designing, planning and trying to find a builder, the new home finally begins. This 1950's style home began as a dream that will hopefully become a reality with the help of Todd Payliss and his mom Bonnie Payliss and cousin, Lee Hollingsworth. Their idea involved using straw bales for the insulation.

It will soon be time to get the sheating on the roof and begin placing the bales!

 What happens next?

On December 7th Bonnie, Todd and Lee announced that they were insolvent and walked away from the project with over $400,000.

Sadly, the floor will have to be torn up and replaced, including all of the floor joists!

A lot of the straw was lost because it had not been covered properly and the rest was given away.
